vaasantee kee god mein tarun,
sohata svasth-mukh baalaarun;
chumbit, sasmit, kunchit, komal
taruniyon sadrsh kiranen chanchal;
kisalayon ke adhar yauvan-mad
raktaabh; majju udate shatpad.
khulatee kaliyon se kaliyon par
nav aasha–naval spand bhar bhar;
vyanjit sukh ka jo madhu-gunjan
vah punjeekrt van-van upavan;
hem-haar pahane amalataas,
hansata raktaambar var palaas;
kund ke shesh poojaardhyadaan,
mallika pratham-yauvan-shayaan;
khulate-stabakon kee lajjaakul
natavadana madhumaadhavee atul;
nikala pahala aravind aaj,
dekhata anindy rahasy-saaj;
saurabh-vasana sameer bahatee,
kaanon mein praanon kee kahatee;
gomatee ksheen-kati natee naval,
nrtyapar madhur-aavesh-chapal.
main ptaatah paryatanaarth chala
lauta, aa pul par khada hua;
socha–“vishv ka niyam nishchal,
jo jaisa, usako vaisa phal
detee yah prakrti svayan sadaya,
sochane ko na kuchh raha naya;
saundary, geet, bahu varn, gandh,
bhaasha, bhaavon ke chhand-bandh,
aur bhee uchchatar jo vilaas,
praakrtik daan ve, saprayaas
ya anaayaas aate hain sab,
sab mein hai shreshth, dhany, maanav.”
phir dekha, us pul ke oopar
bahu sankhyak baithe hain vaanar.
ek or path ke, krshnakaay
kankaalashesh nar mrtyu-praay
baitha sashareer dainy durbal,
bhiksha ko uthee drshti nishchal;
ati ksheen kanth, hai teevr shvaas,
jeeta jyon jeevan se udaas.
dhota jo vah, kaun sa shaap?
bhogata kathin, kaun sa paap?
yah prashn sada hee hai path par,
par sada maun isaka uttar!
jo badee daya ka udaaharan,
vah paisa ek, upaayakaran!
mainne jhuk neeche ko dekha,
to jhalakee aasha kee rekha:-
vipravar snaan kar chadha salil
shiv par doorvaadal, tandul, til,
lekar jholee aaye oopar,
dekhakar chale tatpar vaanar.
dvij raam-bhakt, bhakti kee aash
bhajate shiv ko baarahon maas;
kar raamaayan ka paaraayan
japate hain shreemannaaraayan;
dukh paate jab hote anaath,
kahate kapiyon se jod haath,
mere pados ke ve sajjan,
karate pratidin sarita-majjan;
jholee se pue nikaal liye,
badhate kapiyon ke haath diye;
dekha bhee nahin udhar phir kar
jis or raha vah bhikshu itar;
chillaaya kiya door daanav,
bola main–“dhany shreshth maanav!”
